It develops the professional growth and community involvement of its constituent organizations, their individual members, and their respective professionals.

Each year in May, the Engineering Council of Houston recognizes outstanding contributions to STEM education in the greater Houston area by granting Awards of Excellence to progessional societies, industry leaders, corporate sponsors and individuals who have provided exemplary service to STEM education.  This year's awards included Halliburton, Shell, and Kristina Hardwick, Project Development Director for GeoCet.  Kristina was selected for her work with the Greater Houston Energy Education Collaborative (www.gheec.org).  The Collaborative works to educate the public regarding energy industry workforce related issues.
